1.Accreditation Details
The institute has many achievements that includes multiple accreditations like NABL, DTL, FSSAI, GMP & BIS.
Accreditation status of CARI-Jhansi
The Quality Control (QC) laboratories of CARI-Jhansi (Chemistry, Microbiology and Pharmacognosy) are NABL ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited. These labs are also part of the AYUSH Drug Testing Laboratories (DTL). The laboratories conducts comprehensive testing in accordance with pharmacopoeial standards, covering all parameters, including safety tests such as aflatoxin levels, pesticide residues, heavy metal ion analysis, shelf-life studies, total microbial count, total fungal count, detection of specific pathogens, etc.
The Pharmacy of CARI-Jhansi operates under GMP certification and is licensed to manufacture 209 traditional Ayurvedic formulations along with 7 proprietary products. It also holds an FSSAI license for AYUSH-CCT and features a specialized unit for herbomineral preparations. The facility is fully equipped to produce a wide range of dosage forms for Ayush drugs such as Churna/Kwatha Churna, Vati/Tablets, Capsules, Taila-Ghrita, and Avaleha, ensuring strict adherence to GMP protocols.
The Botany section of CARI-Jhansi maintains an herbal garden with 290 different medicinal plant species. The institute possesses a state-of-the-art museum, the National Raw Drug Repository (NRDR) under the sponsorship of National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB). It acts as an accredited reference library for Botanical Reference Samples (BRS) and provides essential resources for authenticating raw drugs used in the herbal industry. Its primary focus is the collection, compilation, cataloguing, and documentation of information on raw materials used in traditional medicine systems (ASU&H), including efforts towards digitization. Additionally, the museum is engaged in the preparation of comprehensive monographs on these raw drugs.
CARI-Jhansi has also been granted quality management system certification license for IS/ISO 9001:2015, for the scope, survey and collection, manufacturing and quality control and supply of Ayurvedic drugs, by the Bureau of Indian Standards in year 2025.
